Stay Connected to the Recovery Community
AFTERCARE PROGRAM
Aftercare is one of the most important aspects of the treatment process. While rehab is effective in achieving abstinence, recovery truly begins after treatment ends. Grace Recovery provides each client with a unique aftercare plan that meets their needs for when they leave our program.
Here at Grace Recovery, You're Family.
CREATING A RECOVERY COMMUNITY
The recovery journey doesn’t end upon discharge from treatment. In fact, it’s only just beginning. For this reason, Grace Recovery offers a comprehensive aftercare program to help clients build community and give them their best chance at success.
A SMOOTH TRANSITION BACK TO EVERYDAY LIFE
We know that re-entering everyday life after weeks or months in treatment can be a unique challenge. There are dozens of decisions to make: where to live, where to work, whom to spend time with, how to reach your goals. More often than not, clients feel overwhelmed. With all of this stress, it can be hard to stay abstinent and maintain recovery.
At Grace Recovery, we never let our clients go off to fend for themselves after they leave one of our treatment programs. Instead, we work with them to create a plan that complements their needs and goals. Our multidisciplinary team works together to help clients make the best decisions for their particular situation. Then, they help clients implement their plans.
THE GRACE RECOVERY AFTERCARE PROGRAM
Our multifaceted approach addresses every aspect of our clients’ lives, from mental health to life skills to community building. A few elements of our aftercare program include the following:
GROUP SESSIONS
We offer a variety of group therapy sessions to help prepare clients for life after treatment. Topics include the following:
Healthy relationships
Codependency
Life skills
Case management
In these groups, clients discuss issues and goals relating to the topic. The therapist guides the discussion, providing tools and healthy coping mechanisms clients can use in their everyday lives.
MEDICATION COMPLIANCE
Many of our clients struggle with one or more mental health conditions in addition to their struggles with addiction. Therefore, a key component of our aftercare program is medication compliance for those with co-occurring disorders. Taking medications appropriately and consistently is essential to creating stability. This stability makes recovery that much more achievable.

Why Aftercare Matters
THE IMPORTANCE OF AFTERCARE
Starting again after addiction treatment can be a profoundly lonely experience. For most clients, before seeking treatment, their entire lives revolved around finding and using their substance of choice. This means that their friend group likely consists entirely of others struggling with addiction.
Once clients undergo treatment, they learn that going back to that friend group is the easiest way to head toward relapse. Without access to their old friends, recovery can feel isolating. However, quality Los Angeles addiction treatment program like Grace Recovery work hard to ensure this doesn’t happen. With a network of supportive friends, family, and peers in recovery, we can significantly improve the chances that our clients go on to a happy, long life of wellness.

HOW WE BUILD A RECOVERY COMMUNITY AT GRACE RECOVERY IN LOS ANGELES
Grace Recovery takes a multi-faceted approach to ensure that all of our clients have the support that they need when they leave our care. A robust community can come together to provide care during times of stress, lessening the chances of relapse.
Family members are often the most important part of an addiction recovery community. For this reason, our team works to involve our clients’ families in the treatment process whenever possible. This way, we can work to repair relationships, provide education, and ensure that everyone is on the same page. Family members often are unsure of how to best help their loved one through this hard time. They may cut their loved one off completely, or even enable their negative behaviors. However, with proper education and family counseling sessions, the family members can do their part to help support the recovery of their loved one.
Alumni events are fantastic opportunities to continue to build upon an addiction recovery community. They provide fun sober activities to keep you busy and help you bond with others in recovery. It can be immensely helpful to have friends that understand your struggles. We also provide volunteer opportunities to help alumni get involved in their community.
